Question:
For no reason, I listened to my 4 year old beagles heartbeat today and it sounded like this lubdub lubdub lubdub pause lubdub lubdub lubdub. Seems to be a consistent pause every three beats.

I listened to my other dogs heart beat and it was just a consistent lubdub sound - no pauses.

Whats that about?

Could be that one of your dogs valves is not operating properly. Best bet is to take him in for a checkup and have the vet take a good listen. Could be nothing but it's always better to be sure that it's not a result of some underlying condition.

abnormal heart beat could mean a bazillion things, its most likey nothing to worry about but get it checked out by the vet to rest assure you dont need to worry too much.
