I would like to know if anyone has heard of dogs getting sick eating real fatty meat and getting sick.My freind has a dog and her dog is really sick and the vet told her it was from eating a piece of ham that was really fatty and the dogs's pancreas is acting up.Her dog is a small yorkie.Thank you.

Cooked fatty meat can definitely cause pancreatitis - it's fine in small amounts but doesn't take much for a little Yorkie! There's many causes for it though.

I know there's a big spike in acute pancreatitis episodes in dogs around Thanksgiving when people give their dogs a ton of fatty table scraps. Here's some info:
