Update on my pregnant cat.....

Question:
Last night we welcomed 1 new kitten into our home.
Abby refused to go ANYWHERE but my lap. So I was lucky enough to get splashed with warm "water" and later a little blood. She howled like she was having a truck, and used her front paws to grab my hand, she didnt use her claws.
My husband, turned white and ran up the stairs like a bat outta Hect. Yelling the girls had work to do.

After about 3 minutes of looking at me like she wanted to nail that "Dirty Tom" to a rusty razor, out popped a single beautiful white kittten. Female I believe. Mom is black so I wasn't expecting white for sure but she is not albino I know because there are a few black hairs on her ears.

Mom and daughter are doing fantastic. However Abby kept bring her on the bed to lay next to me late last night. Finally I goet a boot box and tucked in a towel and wedged it next to the head board with pillows around it and my hand petting Abby's head just so she would stop carrying around the little one.
She quickly trained me this morning to bring the box where ever I go. She would bring the kitten to what ever room I was in and stand there holding her until I produced the box.

She is eating well. Meowing loudly. And Abby is an attentive mother.

Is it usual to have just one?

yes.

you should take her to the vet to make sure she's in good health and that there's no more kittens in there

Answer:
Some have one...
Have you felt her belly? Are you sure she's done? She could still have a still birth.. It happens...

Answer:
She has a regular appointment tomorrow. The vet said if no excessive bleeding and is eating/drinking/pooing/acting ok then we could wait for regular hours.

Answer:
Good luck!

Answer:
Abby sounds like a very good mom, and you too.

Just keep an eye on her and update us after you see the vet.

Answer:
I've never had a cat have just one kitten, but I've known several people that have.
Has she been feeding the kitten regularly?
I would try to get her to keep the kitten in one place because it's not all that great for the kitten to be moved constantly. Also remember if you handle the kitten to always wash your hands, because it's unlikely, but the kitten could get infections or get sick if you happen to have the right germs on your hands. Check the kitten regularly to make sure that it's feeding and doing ok otherwise and everything should be fine.
Other than that, congratulations on your new kitten .

Here's a list of a few things that should have and should not have happened during birth just for reference:
