What should we do?
Question: Over the weekend my husband and I bought a husky/spitzpoo mix puppy from a client of his. We were told that the puppy was 8-9 weeks old, but it is very obvious that she is only about 6 weeks old. Now we know that puppies get nervous sometimes and shake a bit, but this pup shakes quite frequently. Even when she is asleep its almost like her body has like tremors at times. We've only had her for about 2 days now and this morning she vomitted up what looked like chicken soup broth (sorry). Even though she is only 6 weeks she is still not very active. All she does is cry and shake. We were wandering if this is normal puppy behavior, or could it be an idication of a more serious problem. Thank you so much for your time. Answer: I would get her checked out by a vet asap. Shivering like that can indicate a fever. It isn't normal for a puppy to not be active and only cry and shake. Please get the puppy in to see a vet and post back with an update. Answer: Definately time to see a vet, it does not sound normal at all. Either way ill or not, the puppy should be heading in to the vet right now for a check up and vaccinations. its nothing too serious. Please update once you have seen a vet. Answer: I agree that a trip to the vet is a must. Answer: Absolutely a trip to the vet is a must, must, must. And perhaps you should ask the vet, while your there, of special care that such a young puppy would need (warm, secure bed, perhaps ticking clock wrapped up in sock to emulate mother's heartbeat, diet, emotional needs, etc.) in case you're not sure.
