recovery after dog being spayed

Question:
Hi, today i had my bull arab spayed this morning, bought her home about two oclock and was wondering is it normal for her to still be very weak this many hours after?

thankyou in advance

Answer:
Very normal. Some animals bounce back almost right away, others will take a day or two to return to normal. Just keep an eye on her and after a day or so, I'f they're still not themselves, contact your vet

Answer:
She just had major surgery and was under anaesthetic, if you've ever had surgery and been under for any length of time, you're not feeling so hot for several days afterwards. She just needs her rest and some love

Answer:
Usually it takes about 24 hours for the anesthesia to fully wear off. I have often found my dogs actually bumping into stuff and acting weak and weird for 24 hours, so I usually keep them in their crate in a warm place until the following morning, then let them out. It's normal for them to be weak. After all, it's surgery!! My vet in New York, who was one in a million, actually wouldn't discharge my pets until the following day, but keep them overnight. When i moved here, I found it strange that vets would let you take your pet home the same day.

Answer:
Around here, soays require a night stay at 90% of vet clinics, while neuters are discharged the same day.
I picked up Kita the next day and she was still groggy and "out of it" 24 hours later, and she didnt return to her normal active self for about 2 more days afterwards. ( she wanted to, but you could tell there was discomfort)
It is a major surgery, as is a female humans tube tying.
So to answer your question with out rambling ( as i seem to be doing an awful lot today ) yup. Its normal!
