Scooting Puppy
Question: I have a 6 month old lab that scoots/moves when he poops. Rather than pooping in one spot, he moves forward (without standing upright) and poops again and again and again - each time of course a little less. Any recommendations on getting him to use one spot? Answer: Our dog did this for a long time and still does it every once in a while. I've always said she was my ADD dog -- squat, drop a turd, hey what's that, oops another turd, hey look at that over there, oops forgot I was pooping, hey look... She just eventually grew out of it. I don't think there is any way to really stop it. By the way, welcome to the forum and we would love to see pictures. Answer: Cassie does this too. Funny that you referred to it as ADD because we say Cassie has ADD all the time I don't think there is a way to stop it either Answer: Dracko occasionally does it...almost seems like he's trying to get away from his own poop, yet still keep pooping. Answer: Kita will poop in circles poop a tad then walk around it and poop some more... I have never given it much thought, she has always done it and if its her preference, than so be it Answer: My Ridgeback Amira has always done the "poop walk". Though she seems to be doing it less now that she turned a year old. But I think its funny when she does it. Answer: I've always felt for the poop-walker owners.
