I too have a pom, female-spayed, 3 yrs old, who has lost almost all of her coat except for her face and legs. I have had her examined by the vet and the diagnosis was not life threatening, but a condition which affects Poms and other nordic breeds. This condition has been reffered to as Aloepecia X, Severe Hair Loss Syndrome or Black skin Disease. I am tring a few herbal medications ( of course checking these out with her vet first ), but so far it doesn't look good. The good news is she looks really cute in doggie clothes and doesn't mind wearing them.
