Runny eyes caused by congenital condition
Question: My 6 month old Cocker Spaniel has had runny eyes since we got him. He was at the Vet for neutering last week, so they had a closer look at his eyes while he was under anesthetic. They found that he is missing the lacrimal duct on his lower lids. This means that the tears do not have the proper drainage system, and therefore they spill out onto his fur. The vet said that there are canine Opthomologists if we are interested. He also said there is no danger to the eye, it is purely a cosmetic concern. Just wondering if anyone is aware of this condition, and if a trip to a specialist would be a waste of time (not to mention money!!). Also, any tips for keeping the fur clean and dry, other than just the commercial products available? Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
