cat stomach sounds

Question:
My 12 yr old male has occassional rumbling sounds coming from his stomach/lower abdominal region - this isn't constant but occurs frequently, and when it does his stomach sems to "move" and it is visible. He eats wet food and occasional table scraps, and drinks both water and milk. He also belches at times when this is occuring and the smell is horrible. His bowel movements are normal in frequency and color. What could be causing this?

Answer:
I would cut out the milk. Adult cats cannot digest the lactose in it, and that can cause tummy upsets!

Cats are strict carnivores, and he may also be having trouble with the scraps you giving him - depending on what they are.

Ooops - I just saw that your cat is 12 yrs old. If you haven't already done so - he should definitely be taken to the vet for a check up!
