Our kitten just vomitted (clear mucos) and just hasn't been herself today.
Question: Our kitten is 5 months old and was just spayed 2 weeks ago. She did'nt eat anything this morning before I left for work. Since I came home(9hrs later) she still has'nt eaten or drank any water. She has used the litter box twice(a little urine) and vommitted once(clear mucos). Should I play the waiting game or bring her to the vet in the morning? How long do I wait before going to the Vet? She is'nt in any pain. The only time she started meowing was when she vommitted. She is just sleeping right now with her sister in front of the fireplace. Thanks Answer: I'd at the very least call your vet and see what they say... Cats are tricky at times a phone call is free and can easily stop your worries. Answer: No you shouldn't wait. Is there an emergency number you can call tonight justto get an idea of what might be going on? I think it's always better to go to the vet for soemthing that tuns out to be monor than to wait and find out that you should have gone sooner, you know? Please post again and let us know how she is ? Good luck to you. Answer: If your pet is vomiting, bleeding, has diarrhea etc. seek vet care. Answer: Cats can live for a few days without food, but they cannot live without water. Plus, they don't tend to show pain or weakness until til it's too late ... If you are certain your cat has not been drinking, it's time to call the vet. If she is vomiting clear stuff, it may be because she is grooming herself and her wound and it's hairball type vomit. Her fur will smell funny to her plus she may be licking her incision. Cats normally bounce back quickly from spay surgery. I'd worry more about her not drinking. Answer: It sounds serious i'd get to a vet asap. Definitely call someone tonight if you can. There's really no way for you to know if she's in pain or not even if she purrs. It's true they often hide illness until it's to late to help them. Good luck. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
