Question:
logans foot pads get really dry and cracked sometimes. and a couple of times they have bled a bit is there anything i can put on them that is safe without making he pads too soft for him, i know they need some callusing on them to not cause pain when he walks on them

Answer:
i got a tube of this http://www.vetamerica.com/browseprod...Foot-5-oz.HTML Soothables Tender Foot, both beanies got some last night and there is already a diffence! smells a bit lemony, not greasy and is absorbed into the foot pad super well. it's not expensive either, and available in many places... good luck!

Answer:
Yeah, bag balm is so greasy.. I used something else that worked pretty well, but I can't seem to find it..:( It's a little white jar with a turquoise label.. Crud. I'll try to find it somewhere...

Answer:
Once a week i put vitamin E capsule oil on Zoe's feet just before she goes to sleep.....no little slippery foot prints. Never had them crack and bleed thou.

Answer:
I use bag balm but I put baby slippers on their paws afterwards. I'm going to look into TD's suggested product though ~ if it absorbs then I can do all 12 paws at once ! Keep us posted Michelle on how Logan fares with it.

Answer:
i put the Soothables on the beanie's paws for the 2nd time tonight, it takes a while to massage it into all those digits but well worth it! they loved the "massage" and hubby said that this morning dakotah did not limp at ALL during the morning walk, like he had the past few days since it's supercold and the sidewalks are full of gravel and salt. so yeah i'm happy with it so far

Answer:
Last time I was at PetValu store they had a few different kinds of foot creams. I've tried to "soothables" too and found it nice.

Don't forget, winter salt can be brutal on puppy paws. I would gave my girls paws a quick dip in clear warm water if we'd been out on salty streets. Helps them from drying out and cracking, just be sure to dry them well after though, wet paws also dry out and crack (how ironic is that?).
