our babies are getting fixed...

Question:
we went to the vets today with baggins about her persistant ear infection, and the vet has given us a softening soloution for a plug of "stuff" down there, and shes going to pull it out when we take her back, Dr B is really taken with our little baggy, and called her "my baby with the heart murmer" when she saw her this am. she thinks there might be a polyp (sp) down there, and baggins needs to be under when she investigates further, as she was crying when her ear was being looked at.

shes also going to be spayed, both of the two older ones are, Dr B does not want any one else working on them. gandalg is also going to have the scar tissue on her eye looked at, and maybe snipped away. she came on heat a few days ago, and we just dont know how to make her feel better. shes rubbing herself on everything, and sounds really distressed.

i also bit my tongue in the vets office, when we got talking to a woman in there that caney knows, and she asked if we have ours declawed. i said no, and that i did not like it, and we have gotten ours used to being clipped. she has four cats, and was taking a feral shes adopted in there, her reason being.. i have antiques...and... i have no choice..., huh!?

im kinda worried about them both, they have heart murmers, gandalf may have grown out of hers, but baggys is an issue, they are gonna be on IV drips as the vet says they are safer for them. i trust the vet, but i cant help but worry about them.

does anyone have advice on dealing with a cat on heat, and looking after the two that are going to be spayed...?

here is a pic of baggins...
