mucous in crate

Question:
We found some clear mucous type of stuff on the blanket of our 12-week old female puppy's crate today. I've examined her bum and peepee area and I can't find any evidence of discharge (she's a Shih Tzu cross, so very furry), so I'm left to assume that it came from her mouth. Earlier today I had bought her a new fleece dog bed, which she immediately began to pick apart and eat pieces of - she's back to the towel and baby recieving blankets. Do you think it was munching on the fleece bed that made her puke this mucous? She seems perfectly fine and normal otherwise.

Answer:
It's hard to say. How is your doggy now? Has it happened again? IMO, it's best to make sure there's nothing edible in her crate...

Answer:
I would keep a very close eye on her for the next couple of days.

She still seems fine this morning and it hasn't happened since the one time it happened yesterday. I don't put anything edible in her crate, and I didn't think she would try to eat her dog bed...
