thyroid/heart murmur

Question:
My 3 year old male cat has a heart murmur, I'm not sure the level. The vet we spoke to says its possibly due to hyperthyroid (likely because symptoms sound like my cat). Anyway my question is if we treat the hyperthyroid will that help the murmur or is a seperate issue?

please put your in

Answer:
I'm sorry ~ your question cannot be answered by anyone here. You need to get you cat's thyroid checked and you need to speak with your Vet about the combination of a thyroid problem and heart defect. A heart murmur can be inncocent or indicative of congenital defect. The best course of action is to see a cardiac specialist.

Answer:
Yeah I agree. The best person to ask would be your vet
