Dog sounds congested.

Question:
Recently, my 10 yr old Chi-Corgi mix's lungs sounds a bit congested. She doesn't cough, her breathing isn't labored in anyway, and otherwise she seems fine--good appetite, hasn't lost or gained weight (she weighs the same today as she did in 2005). I can hear the change in her breathing when she is sleeping--she snores more than usual--and during physical activity, such as when she plays or jumps up on my lap or onto the bed. It's a moist, wheezy sound.
I plan on taking her to the vet this week, but I was wondering if anyone knew what the possible causes of congestion without a cough could be? Everywhere I've read online, the congestion is accompanied by a cough. Is it possible she has a cold? About a week ago I had her over at my sister's house where there are several small dogs and I thought maybe she caught something from them, as they are not well cared for. I held her the entire time I was in the house--that probably wouldn't make a difference if they did have something--but the other dogs were jumping up at her, grabbing at her tail and feet. She is up to date on all her vacinations, and is not due for another round until April.
I can't think of anything to add at this time, other than I don't usually tend to think the worse, but the lack of online information on it, combined with my own lack of knowledge regarding the subject, has me worried that her congestion may be the first signs of a serious health problem.

Answer:
Have you been to the vet yet? Congested lungs can be anything from kennel cough to heart failure. If you haven't been yet, a vet visit is a definite must, asap.

Answer:
I also thought of heart failure. I hope you can get her in to the vet right away. Good luck and keep us posted.

Answer:
Thank you for the replies. As I stated in my post, I am taking her to the vet this week and she is up to date on her vaccinations--the vaccination against kennel cough is included in the standard DHLPP vaccine. Also, she exhibits no other signs of illness, such as labored breathing, weight loss, discolored gums and loss of energy and appetite--and she doesn't cough.

I was just curious why there is no cough, since everything I've read about the various conditions regarding congestion includes coughing in the list of symptoms. Her only symptom is congestion and it came on suddenly without any indications of prior health problems. My daughter told me last night that it sounded like bronchitis. She has two golden retrievers and last winter one of them caught a cold and within a few days this minor cold had progressed to bronchitis. If this is the early stages, I suppose that could be why there is no cough present. I don't think it is heart failure, only due to the fact she doesn't exhibit any of the other signs of heart problems.

I'll let you know what my vet has to say after examining her.
Thanks again.
