Roland has Diarreah (sp?)i need some advice
Question: I have noticed that Roland has a bit of Diarrea. not chronic just a lot less firm than usual. i was wondering if it could be too much protein. can it do that? i have these little dried fish that i give him as treat, and cause im a sucker for my little boy, maybe i give him a few more than i should.... (well it doesnt say on the bag how many is too many...) about 6-8 a day sometimes (they are pretty small).. should i not be giving him so much? and while im asking questions...i am feeding Roland Neutro natural choice kitten but he still poops a lot! is this a good brand of food? i tried the Orijen but hes not interested in eating that!!! im feeling a little like a paranoid mother at the mo. (well everone else thinks i am anyway.) i just want whats best for my boy!!! Answer: Whenever you introduce a new food, a bit too much at once there is a risk of soft stool or diarreaha occuring Nutro foods are very grainy, you might want to maybe try a food like Felidae, Go Natural or Evo that has a higher meat content Answer: thanks for the advice. He has not really had any new food. I stopped trying with the Origen (well maybe i was a bit silly cause i mixed the food and then started giving him the option of what he wanted and he always ate the Neutro. )so i guess i should stop giving him so many fish, although hes been eating these for about a month already without any change in poop!) i guess i will give the others a try, i only wish they had tester bags cause hes not so keen on changing and i cant keep buying food and ending up giving it away by the bagfull. (although im happy to do this cause it helps out other kitties, it gets a bit expensive!!) Answer: If there is a Pet Valu there they give out sample bags.. Cindy Answer: Yay! thanks Cindy i will give it a try!!! Answer: Good luck! Answer: Hi All I am new to this forum. I have a 12 month old border collie dog called DOG. Since yesterday morning he has been unable to keep any food down. He has a case of Diarreha. He is not even making it to outside. Yesterday the colour was really light brown. This morning his poo (Sorry) was still abit loose but had some form to it. Ths afternoon i cleaned up another mess, this time it was brown/green colour and sort looked like jelly if was not formed.I am having problems getting him to drink water. And all he wants to do is sleep. I have rung my vets and they have suggested that i bring him in. I cant get to the vets at the present time as my husband is at work and will not be home to this evening and he the car. I am really concerned about my puppy. If anyone has any ideas as to what i can maybe feed him to get his strenght up or how to get him to drink water would love to hear from you. Many Thanks Lisa Answer: Can you take a taxi to the vet? Can a friend bring you? If he hasn't drank or eaten in two days, it's really important he be seen by a vet asap. Answer: Get him to the vets ASAP, they can dehydrate very fast. If you got a syringe, try to syringe some water down his throat or get him to drink somehow even if you mix some chicken broth with the water. Its important to get him some fluids and get him to the vets. Dobb Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
