microscopic blood in urine/behaviour change

Question:
My yellow lab pup is 20 weeks now, she was whimpering and today urinated in my husbands music room. He whistled her inside the house, she came ran downstairs to his room with hair up and urinated. Pup has always returned to a whistle or come or arm command for me. I never whistle unless I can't see her, or is urgent she come in for me. Pup can not tell my whistle from husbands. Told husband the whistle meant come inside and she needed to urinate. Just a guess on my part. He took a urine sample to vet, he found microscopic blood and bacteria,Vet told my husband to monitor closely and not to worry. My question is, with a female pup. Should I be washing her genitalia ? Is this common in female pups.? She has just started licking herselft in the last few weeks. Had a bladder infection Feb 2nd treated and was much better. This urination today was odd for her, know it could be a dominance issure, my husband just returned after 13 weeks absence and I have recently lost the use of one eye and cannot walk her or play, without losing my balance. Know this is confusing her. Today she refused to come to me. Odd , she lay down and wouldn't move. Never happenned before. I cannot drive now, is there any suggestions as to ease my pups concern over me. She is warming to my husband and now will urinate for him. She has stopped urinating on walks. She was for me last week. Any ideas? Thank-you. Pup knows I can not see very well. Sight has been failing for a while. She guides me at night.

Answer:
Ahh poor baby she's gone through a lot huh!

The urinating on your husband is probably submissive urination when she gets excited. When does this normally happen?

She is licking to try and heal herself and may also have an itch or burn. Infections do that and dogs saliva has natural antibiotic forms in it. I wouldn't worry unless she is licking herself raw.

Start to give her 'pure' cranberry juice diluted (1 part cranberry 4 parts water) if she wont' drink it freeze them in cubes and see if she will knaw at it. If that doesn't work then put the diluted mix in a dropper and feed it to her.

Pure cranberry flushes out bacteria from the bladder, kidneys and liver. I would give her this 3/4 times a day. Two droppers full each time.

Remember to get 'pure' cranberry from a health food store NOT Welches or anything like Ocean Spray they contain high amounts of sugar and can contribute to the growth of bacteria.

Answer:
thanks Luba, Had crushed cranberries and put a little in her food already. Will make my own juice. My husbandjust got back after 4 months away. She only did this once, this past week in his music room. she hadn't done that since Feb when she was sick with bladder infection, probably caused by her diarrhea.

Answer:
forgot to answer Luba. She has only done this 3 times since I got her. Once in front of me on carpet when she was in distress and I took her to emerg vet Feb 2. Once at vets last visit in front of male dog, unneutered. Once when husband whistled her in and she came but had to pee, she went straight to his room and peeed. I think she was saying, "I'll come for you but I have to pee". He is geting better with her and she is relazing more. sorry eyes closed.
DId you mail me about herbals for eyes?
