Medication Questions

Question:
You might read other threads I post about Malibu that she's sick with a mild infection in liver valve. Her allergic reaction hasn't clear up. I don't know how long it would be taking to clear up. But she has white marking on her chest so I could see what's on her chest. Before- it was dime size red spots on her chest. Now it's small spots, but many many spots on her chest. And she acts so weird. She breathe kind of fast. But I couldn't hear her breathing which it is much difficult.

Now, I suspect that it might be medication because she took Rimadyl (for dog pain reliever) and Keflex (antobicitics sp?) medications last Thursday night and have hives last Saturday morning. So, the vet took rimadyl away and prescribed Benadyl for Malibu and gave her a shot. So, the vet said if the allergy hasn't clear up, stop keflex medication and continue benadyl. When it clears up, resume the reflex. I don't know if if it's Keflex that she might be allergic? And what about her breathing? It's not FAST but I could see something different than normal.

I called the vet and the doctor couldnt speak with me over the phone because he was in the surgery so the nurse said if I am concerned, bring Malibu to the vet.

What do you think about medications?

Answer:
We took Malibu to the vet and the doctor wants to keep her overnight to see if her reaction goes away. He said she's allergic, but don't know what so he thinks it's something from my house. I thought it's impossible because she lives with us since Jan. and nothing happens to her until she's on medication so she got rash. Matt thinks that Malibu's allergic to Keflux.

I'll call tomorrow morning and see what's up with Malibu. (sighs)

Answer:
Sorry to hear about Malibu

Hopefully everything will be better soon

Answer:
We got Malibu back today and her allergy reaction seems fading, but still there. So, I didn't have a chance to talk with the doctor. Strange.... the nurse gave me Benadyl medications, not Keflux (for liver valve infection) so I honestly think that Malibu might be allergic to Keflux. It's hard to say right now. But I continue to give her Benadyl and see a week from now or her allergy hive/rash appears again. I hope NOT.

Answer:
Hopefully this will be it then. for no more reactions
