Dog eating bulbs
Question: My dog was working in the garden, and dug up some sprout looking things. I think they were bulbs, but I'm not sure. Are bulbs poisonous to dogs? My dog is fine. He isn't showing any signs of illness, and he's happy and playful as usual. He dug them up yesterday at about noon and I think he ate some. What should I do? Answer: Hmmmn I think some bulbs can be toxic and if not the bulbs the fertilizer or the 'wrapping' around them can be! Ask your mom what kind of flowers she planted there so we can determine what he got his mouth into! Answer: I'm pretty sure they were tulip bulbs. I planted them! He's just fine so far, has had a poop and pee, is energetic and bouncy as usual, and wants his walks. It would have made him sick by now, wouldn't it? It has been about a day and a half since he ate it. It takes about half a day for something to start passing through a dog, in my experience. Answer: Here sweetie look here http://dogs.about.com/library/poisons/blplanttulip.htm looks like u should call ur vet and let him/her know Answer: "Symptoms of poisoning: Upset stomach, diareah" Not Bentley! Its been more than three days since he ate them and he hasn't been sick. He's been himself (jumping up, cuddly, playful, energetic) so I really don't think there is anything wrong with him.
