Question:
I was wondering if anyone knew of someone or someplace that knows of the best treatment for a 5 month old puppy that was just diagnosed with pyrothorax.

We rushed him to the vet yesterday because it was thought that he was
having a bad reaction to remadyl. He was in shock and had a temp of 104. He was stabilized as best possible, and upon further examination it was found
that he has pyrothorax. Approximately 1 pint of pus type fluid was drained
from his lungs (using a needle and apparatus). He was then given ampicillin
and saphazillin (sp?) and put into a oxygen cage.

Does anyone know of anyone or anyplace that has been successful in treating pyrothorax, or knows the best way to treat it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
