Question:
I took Louie to the vet and he did a blood test. After a looong wait, the result was low thyroid hormone levels. So we have a diagnosis of hypothyroidism!! I was actually happy because now that we know whats wrong, we can work to fix it. He is on .4mg of Thyro-Tabs once a day now. And we will retest in six weeks.

I was a little confused how his persistant thinness, high energy and preference for cool temperatures could be symptoms of hypO- and not hypERthyroidism, but thats what the test said.

I was curious if anyone had any experience with thyroid issues and if there was anything I should know/expect with it?

It can happen... I forget what the names are, but there are versions of hypo and hyper that have the symptoms of the opposite.
