Spaying

Question:
Do you guys think its smart to give Abbey her rabies shot when she gets spayed? Or should we wait because she'll be going through enough already? If so, how long should we wait? A month?

Answer:
First off,how old is Abbey again?

Answer:
Holy ****! She's 6 months today!!!
She gets fixed on the 21st ( I think, I have to check my calender

Answer:
HMMMMM good question....are you in a wooded area? Like wildlife around. If you are I would give rabies. If your worried about too much at once and no wildlife. Then leave it for a bit.

Answer:
Well Rabies are given at 16 weeks.

Can you get her in to have the shots before she gets fixed?

I would feel much safer getting her shots done now.

Call your vet and ask which is the best route to go.

I wouldn't put off getting the Rabies done.

Just my opinion.

Answer:
Well the vet said we can do them at the same time, but I don't know if thats too hard on her. 16 weeks? Really? Here they recommend 6 months.

Answer:
6 months old for first rabie shots? Oh wow.Never heard that before.

Well she gets spayed in 2 weeks right, get her shots in before then. This way there is a 2 week time span between the shot and her getting spayed.

Answer:
Yep Mona, You're right! 16 weeks is the recommended age. Wendy Volhard suggests waiting until 6 months. Sorry!
