Coconuts
Question: Are coconuts ok for dogs? One of the dogs found one. She has been playing with it and chewing on it, so I hope they're not poisonous. Does anyone know? I think they're edible for people. Answer: Did you take it away? I'm not sure if the shell part is harmful or not.. Answer: I did take it away from her; and still have not been able to find out if they're o.k. So if anyone knows; please do tell. The neighbors have a coconut palm; so she always goes for them when she's outside. They would make cheap toys!! Answer: Hi! I was able to find this: http://hawaiianmusings.blogspot.com/...ian-style.html Good Luck! Answer: Uhh... How does a blog show it's safe? I think you should call the ASPCA poison control and ask them: http://www.aspca.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pro_apcc Answer: I called the phone number listed at the aspca poison control and the Dr. there said there should be no problem. Congrats! Answer: Carefull they do not choke on the shaving thingys around the coconut. I life up north where coconuts are non existing but I've been on vacation before and know they have them peely-shaving things around them so just make sure your dog doesn't peel them off and choke on them or swallow them and get constipated. Answer: Thank you all for your replies. I am glad they are o.k. for dogs. Amira really likes them. She just likes to destroy them, I think. But it's better than destroying brand new toys in 10 minutes. Answer: Did you call the ASPCA number yourself? Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
