Cat scratches dog's eye!
Question: Wish me luck, we're off to the vet, Dory's eye got scratched by Biff. Poor thing, she's rubbing it with her paw and it looks pretty red. Something must have scared the cat for him to do that, usually they get along fine, with a you don't bother me and I won't bother you policy. I'm going to leave in a few minutes, I'll post an update when I get back. Figures that it would happen when the kids all have a P.A. day, so I have to bring everyone along, should be fun *sarcasm.* Answer: Yeah, have "fun" lol. How old are your kids? Poor Dory though, I hope it's not serious! Misti is always lashing out at Dani (not Sheba too much as she's not a playful dog around other animals), mostly with her claws retracted. There are times when we see Dani's skin being pulled by the little cat paw tough, but she's never drawn blood or made her dog yelp. (Yes, her dog ) Good luck and Answer: I have two three year olds and an eleven yr old. So yeah, it was fun. We just got back, the vet stained her eye with some stuff, and there is a smalll scratch on her cornea, so we are aggressively treating with Tobrex every two hours. Poor Dory. The doc said it seemed small enough that it should heal over with treatment, but if it doesn't further treatment may be required. He also said it was lucky that she was brought in so quickly, there's chance for infection and other complications. Including scraping her cornea to promote healing. Doc also said she's well aside from her eye. Going back for a follow up on Monday. I so hope it heals properly. Answer: Hope everything heals up nicely with no complications. How was it with all the kids at the vet?? Answer: Originally Posted by erykah1310 Hope everything heals up nicely with no complications. How was it with all the kids at the vet?? Thanks, it was all just a bunch of craziness . Love taking everyone places, lol, it only takes us 45 minutes to get there, usually it takes me 15 minutes when I'm alone. At least it's over for today, and on Monday, back to school. On the down side, my trip to Ikea is going to have to be put off , but Dory's eyes are far more important, of course. Answer: Okay, so Dory has the eye drops and she has to wear the collar thingy because she is scratching it, hopefully she doesn't have ot wear one again, here's a pic of the poor lady in her gear. Answer: Oh, how sad. Answer: Hope she gets all better and no problems with her eye at all! Don't they look funny/sad with the "lampshades" on Answer: poory dory feel better.... kitty play nice!!! Answer: awwww poor Dory! feel better soon cutie! Answer: Oh, your poor little baby.. How painful this must have been. A shame this happened.. but just one of those things. Your kitty didnt 'mean" to hurt Dory, I'm sure. Hope your sweetie is good as new soon. Answer: Oh no! Poor puppy! We're always worried about Helix and our two cats- especially because he's only been around for 3 months and they haven't established their relationships yet . We put some of those "soft claws (or soft paws)" on our cats' front claws. They're pretty easy to put on, and I have two cats who do not like me touching their paws (I have to wrap one in a blanket and pull a leg out to get to them). They stay on fairly well and if you find them, you can reuse them. Plus they can't scratch you or the furniture that way. Just a thought! Answer: Thanks everyone, I'm passing on the good vibes to Dory. The medicine seems to be going quite well. She's not squinting so much and she's not scratching at it so much either. But, I'm still keeping my Will keep you all updated. Again, thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm going to check out the soft paws, maybe they'll work for my over-reactive kitties. Answer: Sending good vibes for a quick recovery for poor Dory . Answer: What an adorable little conehead. Hope she heals okay and doesn't have to wear it for too long. Answer: I had the same thing a couple years back with my female Gsd who was laying dozeing by the a door to a room in which one of our two cats was untill a book on the bottom book shelf fell off strartled the cat who took flight and in passing dozeing doggie made her look up to see whats happening, He then thought very quickly dont you try to nose me and whack with his paw. All this happend in 30 seconds and luckily I was in the next room to whitness the incedent.A trip to the vet for a scratch to the cornea and a few days of eye cream for poor dog sorted the problem out Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
