Brain Tumor - surgery?
Question: My dog had a CT scan this week that confirmed suspicion of a brain tumor. It is a meningial type - which I've researched can have a good success rate of being reduced via surgery. The neurologist I've worked with says HE wouldn't operate, personally, but knew there were colleagues of his that would. Has anyone out there had experiece with brain surgery in dogs? Survival rates, etc? I'm so confused on what I should do right now. I'm awaiting a call back from their office to ask more questions (cost, etc.). Thanks for your time... Nicole Answer: I'm sorry I've had no experience in that area at all. Hopefully when you hear back from the vet, he'll be able to give you an idea on your dogs chances and the costs involved if they can remove the tumor. You'll have to rely on his advice and what your budget will allow, sometimes vets will let you pay for these things over time though, so you may be able to go that route if your vet is so inclined. Keep us posted, I'm sorry you and your poor dog are going through this. Cindy Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
