dog with seizures

Question:
I recently moved into a newly constructed home. I have 4 dogs, 2 lab, 1 pug and 1 lasa. One of my labs began to have seizures 3 days after moving into the new home. We had blood work, MRI's and bone scan with no findings. After 3 days we had to put her down. The very next day my Lasa began seizures ... I find this strange and believe it is not a coinsidence. There are no other symptoms with either dog. We currently have the 2nd dog on seizure meds but I am fearful wemay loose her too. The vet thinks it could be viral or fungal infections....I wonder about toxins in my new home?? Anyone with any ideas PLEASE HELP!!!!! I am in fear of loosing all my dogs.

Answer:
That's so scary! I'm so sorry! Can you have your home tested? Like have the air quality tested or something like that?

What heartworm preventative are you using? Could it be that? (Just because a few people here have posted that their pets started having seizures after getting a dose of anti-hw meds. )

Answer:
New homes are full of toxins from paint, carpeting, flooring, etc. On top of that they are usually air-tight to make matters worse. I would get someone to come and do some testing so you can see how bad it is.

Perhaps, keeping all the windows and doors open (if you have screen doors) and keeping your dogs outside as much as possible would help. Good luck.

Answer:
Sorry to hear about your loss, and problems.
Growing up we had a dacshie with seizure disorder and he took phenobarbitol (sp?) daily because of it.
He lived 15 years and died of natural causes.
I know how scary it is when your dog has a seizure, no matter how many times you've seen it, it's upsetting.

I know it's a couple of days later, are your other dogs doing okay still?

I don't have any advice unfortunately but your title drew me in.
I hope everything works out!

Answer:
Could something have bitten or stung the dogs??

Spiders?? Wasps, something is going on in the home, you know, I do not think humans should stay there, till you find out what th e heck is going on .

Was this a former toxic site?/ Used by electric, gas or oil companies, a dumpsite. This sounds dangerous.
