Uriniary problems

Question:
I have recently discovered that my pet has bee urinating on my comforter. When I realized that it was my cat, and not my roommates, I took her to the vet and she was given antibiotics for a uti. About 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotics, I came home and after giving her water from the faucet, she walked straight to my comforter and urinated in front of me. When I took her back to the vet, they took another urine sample and foud protein and blood, but said that it was a stress related problem, probably due to the fact that a new pet came into the home three months prior to the onset of the urinating. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix the problem before resorting to having my roommate take her pet back to her familys home?

Answer:
A new cat would definately make your cat territorial. All my cats go thru that same ritual when a new stray comes home...Make sure your roommates cat does not go in your room. Some cats are very picky about other cats. I would ask you room mate to take her cat back to her parents house and see if your cats behavior changes.
At least you know that it's no longer a medical problem.
