Urinating on things

Question:
I have a 5 year old Jack Russel/Bisson (not sure if I have spelt it right) and in the last 2 month has taken up peeing on laundry (clean or dirty), dishes on the dining room table (clean or dirty). He seem to wait until you are out of sight and then urinates on anything. I am not sure what his problem is. He is neutered and has been with us for his entire life. Any ideas????

Answer:
Welcome Catwiebe. As usual, probably a good idea to make an appointment with your vet to rule out anything physical. At the same time, I would definately suggest you seek some advice from a trainer/behaviorist, especially if your dog has not had any training. He jumps up on the diningroom table and pees on the dishes? This sounds like a serious behavioral problem to me.

How much exercise does he get daily? Has he had any training? Has there been anything new happening in his environment since this began, ie. new addition to the family, a move, a death, etc?? Perhaps it would be a good idea if he didn't have access to the diningroom, laundry, and anything else he may urinate on until he is taught that this is unacceptable.
