My rat terrier has just been diagnosed with lens luxation in one eye. I love him to pieces, but have a hard time spending this much money on even an eye removal (quoted at $1300). Is there a less expensive option out there? I have three little ones and am on a tight budget. What would happen if i let it go untreated? I dont want him to be in pain...Thank you for your help!

Leaving it untreated can lead to blindness and or sever pain for your pup (if the eye pressure increases suddenly). You really should discuss this more with your vet. Perhaps you and your vet can work out a payment plan.
