Dog with shaky legs
Question: My 11 year old Mini fox terrier's (even though I have read recently that's not a real breed?) front legs tremble when she is standing. She doesn't shake at any other time. I have asked my vet about it and have been told that it's because "she is old". I rescued her 3 years ago & she has been like this the whole time. She's goes to the vet regularly & I always ask about it, but am always reassured that she's fine. She's a very frisky little dog, she jumps & plays just like a puppy, so I don't think there's any immediate danger, I just wonder if the shaking may be a sign or precursor to something else. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? Thanks. Answer: If the dog has done this since you have had her and nothing more has come of it your concern may just be an overeaction. Is it a muscle twitch or is the dog's leg actually jerking to the extent the leg or paws move? I've got a dog now that has leg twitches when she is anticipating my throwing a ball for her to run down. She is just like a wind up watch. Too Tight. If your dog's gait is normal and her hips are not splaying I would not be too concerned. Answer: If she has done this since for the past 3 years and has no ill effects from it ..still romps and plays...no biggie. DO NOT teach her to pour coffee for you! lol Answer: Take her to a doggie chiropractor Answer: There is some definite shaking, but not so severe that her stance ever changes or her feet displace. I think she's fine, I just wanted to check with you guys. I had never heard of a dog chiropractor before.. I'm going to have to look into that. Thanks as always! Answer: Sure thing, a doggie chiropractor will be your best bet Answer: Search for one here http://www.avcadoctors.com/ Go here to learn more about it including video audio clips http://www.petsinmotion.ca/ Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
