Lola is limping

Question:
She started having an odd gait earlier this evening that has progressed to not putting weight on one leg at all. I`ve felt up and down her leg & checked her paw but can`t find any sore spot or anything. We are heading to the vet in the morning, but in the mean time, is there anything else I should check or suggestions of questions to ask when we get there?

Its so weird, she hasn`t even been outside or up the stairs since before she started limping. Normally she is a tumble-down-the-stairs at top speed kind of girl and I wouldn`t be surprised if she knocked something, but we`ve all been in & pretty quiet tonite. Lola is about 18 months, 50 lb chow/BC mix.

I`ll update after we get her looked at. Thanks for any suggestions.

Answer:
You checked deep between her pads as well as her shoulder? Otherwise, I don't know what else you could check...
Good luck tomorrow.

Answer:
Don't know how old she is but sometimes older dog's gets a little tired after a lonk walk / exercise. It gets better in the morning.Good luck.

Answer:
You might try soaking her paw in a warm epsom salts bath then checking it with a magnifying glass and flashlight. Hope it nothing serious!

Answer:
Well today there was just barely a limp so hubby said we have to wait to call tomorrow during regular hours (Labor Day holiday here). My son said they did run pretty hard yesterday, so maybe she twisted something that got sorer as the evening wore on, even though we never did find a sore spot. Lola is only 18 months and so rough & tumble around the house I`m surprised she never has injured herself before. Even if the limp is gone tomorrow I`m still going to call the vet. She is overdue for shots so we can get that done and have them look over her leg too.

Thanks

Answer:
How's her leg today?

Answer:
Angie (5 month old Std. Poodle) was favoring one of her hind legs yesterday, so after checking for cuts, brambles, etc. in her paw, I gave her a massage in that leg & paw last night. Just sort of deep rub the joints while watching TV--about a half hour will do. (you might try this) She was much better this morning.

I suspect that young dogs get growing pains just like young humans, do. Not to worry too much unless it gets worse or lasts more than a few days.

Thanks, she is good as new today so I dunno what was going on. She is still due for a vet trip though. I probly won`t update anymore unless they do find something wierd.

Thanks for the support
