Swollen Cat Paw
Question: My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat. A couple days ago he started limping on his left hind leg. I looked closer at it and his far inside toe is splayed out from the rest and is swollen, red, and might have a scab on it (he keeps pulling away when I try to look at it while he's sleeping). I've put some neosporin on it and am keeping him inside. What should I do? Answer: Something may have gotten in and the pawpad is now infected.I would take him to the vets since you don't for sure if it's a foreign object, and if so how big; or if its something else. Cats do not show pain, but believe they feel it Answer: Definitely head to the vets. An infected toe, even minor can result in massive foot/leg infection if not treated immediately, which is painful for the kitty and more costly for you :/ Good luck and let us know how he fares Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
