White Lump on Anus

Question:
Hi All,

I have my 12.5 year-old cat booked in at the vet to get her seen to about the following problem but hoped that I could get some advice from the forum in order to set my mind at ease.

I have recently noticed a lump at the opening of her anus which is white in colour and approximately 2mm in diameter. I have tried wiping it off with a tissue but it doesn't seem to move. Also, after pooing, she is dragging her bum across the floor.

Initialy I thought it could be tapeworm of some sort and have given her medication for that but the problem persists.

I can upload a pic if that helps.

Thanks in advance/

I have no advice for you but hopefully the vet will no what it is.

Answer:
Glad your going to the vet..My guess is anal glands..Sometimes they scoot on the floor to try to release them! The vet will do it if they cant do it themselves..
Good Luck

Cindy

Answer:
Now I don't want to scare you and I am talking about a dog here, not a cat , but my Daisy (golden) had one last year and it was a tumor. It can be removed , unfortunatly for my Daisy, it came back but IF this is the case with your cat, It doesn't mean it will come back once removed. Good luck at the vet and I hope it's something else.
