Question:
My wire haired fox terrier is very lethargic, drinking a lot of water and urinating a lot. Her breathing at times seems shallow and more frequent than normal. Otherwise, she is eating and pooping. She is epileptic, but only has minor seizures and I have not seen her have one lately. She gets potassium bromide twice a day for this. This started yesterday and we were with her most of the weekend. I haven't taken her to the vet because she is eating and drinking and passing it but I don't want to ignore something serious.

I really would at least call the vet. She/he should know whats going on and may even want to see her. You're obviously concerned enough about it to post here so please phone your vet.

Have you seen a vet about the Seizures? Did you know each time the dog has one there is a scar left on the brain and makes the next one worse? If you haven't seen a vet about it...do so ASAP!

With the breathing and that.....take the poor thing to the vet. There are way too many problems here not to worry.

She has been under the care of a vet for the epilepsy. In fact, I switched to my current vet because I did not think the vet I was seeing at the time was responsive to her epilepsy. I will leave work early and go home and see her and check with my vet.
