Wild Cats
Question: I need help with one wild cat, he looks in bad shape. He sits on my front porch and lays on the bench. He looks like he has a swollen face, more so around the ears. He has a recent injury to his right leg, lost some fur on the leg which looks to be healing. He lets me get close to handle him so we can feed him. He is not afraid of us anymore, but I really don't like the look of the swollen cheeks. When he eats he has a hard time, rasping noise, trouble swallowing food? Is there any mercy vets in London Ontario that I can bring him to, or is there something I can do to cure him...... We are not pet owners, but I do not want to see this one die if I can help it. Any Advise or help would be appreciated. Regards. Ruffride Answer: If you cannot approach this cat, you MUST get a humane trap, catch him and at least take him to a shelter. That would be much better than the suffering he is enduring now. If you do nothing, this cat is going to die a lingering and horrible death. You can rent the traps at tool rental places or the humane society. Please do it! Answer: Question? Does the Humane Society not pick up animals like this, if called? Heather Answer: Goldenmom, around there the SPCA won't come (if they ever come at all) unless the animal is confined. They will NOT even consider coming if the animal is loose. We have individuals calling our rescue if they see sick or injured cats. There is no help available of any kind. Answer: Lucky that's,like I said soo many times before, just horrible, what does your SPCA stand for,if not for rescuing animals in trouble? I can still remember our HS trying to catch"Charlie"a stray tom-cat I ended up feeding for nearly three years,he too had several different wounds over the years, they were going to get him medical help and neuter him and bring him back to my house at no cost to me.Unfortunately we never were able to trap him,he outsmarted everyone I also at one time had two Budgies in my tree and HS was here 5 times trying to get them into a cage,to no avail...This is what HS is supposed to do! That is why I support them. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
