Hello, my 1 yr old german shepard male has a super dry lip in the corner of his mouth. He took antibiotics for a while but the crustiness didnt improve. Is this something serious? Is it symptomatic of something? Please help!

Has anyone ever heard of dogs having a crusty dry lip? It's in the corner of his mouth on only one side. His nose is wet & cold, he eats well & the other side of his mouth seems fine. I think its curious that this one side of his mouth is always super dry. Any ideas?

I would ask the vet that prescribed the antibiotics in the first place. There must be a reason for the vet's Rx.

Was there infection or was the antibiotic 'in case' of infection?

It wouldn't hurt to put some aloe vera on it and some pure vitamin e
