Hi;
I have two pet geese I got right after Easter. I keep them penned up at night and let them walk around my barn and yard during the day. I have cats and horses but they are not bothered by them. I also have electric fence around one side of the barn (equipment)

This morning after I let them out I found one of them just sitting by the electric fence. He was disoriented and dizzy acting and has been acting llike this all day. The other day one of them touched the electric fence wire and was fine afterwards (it does not deliver much) so I have ruled that out.
I had 4 geese last year, and one of them started acting dizzy then too, and eventually died. Any ideas?

Answer:
The only information I can offer you myself is that my aunt years back had a pond with geese and ducks. One of the ducks got this way as well and also had a funny tilt to his head. The vet said what it was but I cannot remember now. They did end up having to destroy the duck. So the situation was urgent. The only thing I can suggest to you is see if there is an avian vet nearby.

I hope the situation is different but it sounds like it's something that needs attention.
