Question: I just bought a dog from the humane society and he had diarrhea when i bought him but now its worse and he has blood in it. I don't know if it is b/c of having diarrhea so much or if maybe possibly he ahs parvo could someone email me and let me know what to do. If i take him to the vet i won't be able to pay my bills so i wanted to know if it was serious enough to not pay my bills b/c even though i've only had him for a week he comes before anything. so i would appreciate any help i can get. email me at lexies1cutie@aol.com thank you Answer: Blood in diarrhea is dangerous that dog needs to go to the vet asap. You need to plan ahead. Making the purchase of a dog must include budgeting to for vet care as well. Borrow the money or put on credit, call the shelter where u got the dog maybe they have a vet they can refer you to. Answer: if your dog had parvo it would be dead already plus your shelter would be in trouble. he most likely has worms. check his stools then go to the vet. good luck Answer: if your dog had parvo it would be dead already That is NOT true. Take him to the vet asap. If he has parvo, the shelter should pay the cost of the treatment. Answer: The dog would not ness'rly be dead, thats incorrect! However, delaying treatment can lead to the demise so pls pls call the shelter #1 and get to a vet asap. Answer: Pavaro is deadly and dangerous. Get your dog to the vet as soon as possible. On all accounts except the Vet, and that should be the first step! I willing to wager they will test and treat anything that may be going on with him since you recently adopted him. Shelters do not like to adopt out sick animals, they would really want to know about this. Also, ( I am not going to razz you about this) since you have recently adopted him and are short on funds, please try to save some $$ for his future care.. Answer: welcome raw calls, just wondering if the coccidia pathogen is the same as coccidiosis that kills chickens and other birds which is found in soil??? thanks Answer: Coccidia is more of a single cell amoeba. Bacteria form. Answer: please excuse my poor manners, welcome also to lexis1cutie, sorry a bit slow this morning . the description of the disease and symptoms sound very very similar to the chook (chooks are chickens) disease. i actually lost flocks of chooks to it and it sounds remarkably similar in symptoms (awful diarrhea and wasting of the body). soil is the carrier here (we lived on flood plain so very bad soil diseases) for chooks but poor hygene or poorly designed housing can also be to blame for encouraging the disease. it is very rare for a chook to survive and most die slowly and sadly, although one of mine lived and still goes strong today . it is a disgusting, horrific disease in chooks and is terrible to watch, it broke my heart on many occassions and the thought of it chills me to the bone. thank you for that info, it is so important to be well informed or try to be at least. again thank you Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
