My Cat is very warm
Question: Quincy had surgery about 2 and a half weeks ago. He is still moping around and very very warm. He is limping where he had his nails removed. Is this normal? Does he need some antibiotics? perhaps some baby asprin? Answer: I've never had a cat just after they got declawed.. but I own one now that is declawed. But I got her already declawed. Is he warm just around his paws? If it's warm in just that area, then it may be infection.. Answer: Take your cat back to the Vet. If your Vet used glue to close in lieu of sutures it is common for cats to react from itand infection settles in. Also, if you let the cat use clay litter before the wounds heal this can cause an infection also. Vet trip! Answer: OMG,this question made my toe-nails ache and my stommache turn.....no comment other than the kitty is in pain, vet ASAP. Answer: ACK! - I'm dead set against declawing - I did it to my first cat , and never again. I became better educated about it after that. Expect your cat to be in pain/sensitive for about a year. He has had all his digits amputated on his front paws. Imagine how he feels. It's only 2 weeks he's still in pain. If he is very warm he is probably fighting infection and needs the vet ASAP! This is not something to self medicate. Everyone else considering this please read this first http://www.declawing.com & this http://www.declawing.com/htmls/declawing.htm Answer: Why didnt i invent that, what a great idea.. Answer: My cat got declawed at the same time as he was neutered and the night I brought him home it was like nothing changed. No limp, nothing. He was groggy though. If your cat is limping even slightly, bring him to the vet, i'm sure something is wrong. Answer: I ordered me some of those soft paw things. I am going to try them on Cry Baby (he will prolly freek out but we will see) Justin will prolly laugh at me for getting them. I ordered the red ones (too bad Cry is a boy) hope he does not notice ! Did the vet tell you to use newspaper litter (a product called yesterday's news)? Answer: OMG the poor cat :( Answer: Originally Posted by Princesss04 I ordered me some of those soft paw things. HEHEHEHEHE You should save your money. I know about 15 people who have tried this product (including some Vets) and not one will ever use them again. Cats do not like them and they spend their time trying to rid themselves of the demons, and they are usually very successful within 2 hours after application. A total waste of hard earned cash, better spent elsewhere. Like in a good pair of nail clippers. Answer: perhaps some baby asprin? Didn't some people on the board here say NO ASPIRIN!? Answer: This person has not answered back,I am hoping after leaving the cat in pain for two weeks, she's taken him to the vet....poor mutilated kitty :( Answer: Clippers and a scratching post is all you need to control cat scratching. A good indication of a cats temperature (If you'd rather not stick a thermometer in their bum ) is feeling their ears. I hope this poor thing got some vet attention.
