my teacup chihuahua age 2 (male) got into a nest of fire ants this evening and I think they bit him. He has been running around in circles and hiding under beds and in closets. We gave him a bath (tepid) which helped temporarily. Please advise on how to make him comfortable.

I would suggest a hydrocortisone spray, easily found at any pet supply store. This should ease the sting. I'm sure he feels like he has a million bug bites... enough to drive anyone(thing) crazy! Best wishes!

You need to take your dog to the vet to have it checked over. A dog this tiny can have all sorts of problems. My sister-in-law also has this type of dog and it just got, what we think, is a spider bite. Its whole face swelled. Then it got 2 ear infections just from that bite. THEN, it was allergic to the penicillen and almost tore its hair out. After 8 days, this dog is still VERY sick and may have to be put on IV. Please take it to be checked.
