Cat ate moth
Question: My cat Sabrina just ate a moth tonite. Does anyone know if this could harm the cat? I came out from my study this evening and found my cat playing with a moth. One second she was still chasing it and the next she ate it!!! I am worried if that could harm her or not. Please help. Also, I change their dry food to Nutro Max Senior Cat, the rash on Sabrina is gone!!! I am feeding her half Iams and half Nutro Max and they seem to love that. Thank you so much guys. Answer: Unless it was some rare type of moth it shouldn't be a problem - My cat eats all kinds of insects when I let her play in the yard - never been a problem. Answer: Should be fine -- I used to have two outdoor cats who never ate any insects except moths, and they ate those fairly regularly! Answer: VCheng You're funny, but your concern is commendable....a nice juicy insect is a good source of protein, does no harm, unless it's a bee..ouch!! My cats, who go outside supervised, love chasing anything that moves,a few bugs and some grass makes for a nice light lunch!! Answer: Not to worry! Cats eating moths are very normal my cats eat ANYTHING! including moths they swat at it then kill it and eat it. It's very nuturious for them! Answer: One of my cats couldn't wait for spring to munch on huge and crunchy June bugs. YUMMMMM. Answer: Puss-Puss gallops across our bed (and stomachs) at night in pursuit of a moth which she then catches and eats at the foot of our bed. Happened too many times over the last 15 years for us to worry about it. Brought us a live, unharmed tomato worm once as a gift. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
