Another lump on my dog
Question: Hello. I posted a few weeks ago about my dog having a bump after having her vaccinations. I want to apologize for that. I came on here and read a few messages and then posted. If I'd read a few more, I would have seen that my question had already been asked. Whoops! So I've read about 8 pages now, and I haven't seen this one. We noticed a tiny little bump on Eleanor's foot, but didn't think much of it. (She's pretty clumsy- always falling off the bed or tripping over her feet.) But last night, she jumped up on the bed and I saw that this bump has grown into a red, ugly cyst thing. It's perfectly round, and hard- about the size of a small marble. We took her to the emergency vet. The vet said that since Eleanor wasn't licking it or anything and she would let us touch it, it wasn't painful to her. She also said that since it was hard to the touch, getting a cell sample would be painful and expensive and probably have little result. That we should wait until Monday and have our regular vet just remove it and send it to a lab. Has anyone else seen anything like this? It looks like a little red, hairy balloon on the side of her foot. I would appreciate any responses. Thanks! Answer: The emergency vet did nothing at all? I'm one of the grosse ones on this board and want pictures of everything, I find it a learning experience and actually lots of people can help if they see what it looks like. Can you take a picture of it and post it for us to see. If it has grown that fast I would restrict her mobility and don't let her jump around too much, no off leash running etc.. until your vet sees her. Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
