Sick dog
Question: Hello, We have a 10 year old Cockapoo/Terrier mix. In the last several weeks she has begun to pee on the carpet, something she hasn't done since she was about 5 months old. She is drinking a lot of water and asking to be let out fairly often, especially at night. She used to be fairly tubby, but has gone from a flat back to no fat on her back. She's been shaking and lethargic. Today, she wouldn't eat...not even her favorite chips...drinking a lot as usual, but throwing it up within a couple of minutes. I intend to take Molly to the vet tomorrow, but was hoping for some ideas of what could be the matter. Unfortunately, money is an issue and worries me. HELP! Answer: The shaking and lethargy could indicate shock. Please don't wait. Take Molly to an emergency vet tonight. It sounds serious and she's weakened from being so long without eating. Even if you have to travel some distance, she needs help right away! Answer: This could be anything - diabetes, kidney problems, cancer....you will have to take your dog to the vet, or have her put to sleep. As you can see, she is suffering. A blood test will show if she has diabetes and you can get appropriate meds for her. As it turns out, she had diabetes, kidney problems, pancreatitis, etc. We decided to put her down because her vet didn't think treatment would be very beneficial for her. So, no more Molly. Thank you for your answer. Answer: I'm sorry to hear that.:( Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
