Help!!! Rash is Back!!!
Question: Aiya...Sabrina, my 9 year-old cat's rash is back again!!! She started licking her belly yesterday and now there is a spot on her belly that's blad (same place as last time). I thought changing diet would help. Now I wonder if it could be mite. Her skin is always pink (I mean really pink), and she's always licking herself. Sometimes she even scratch her ears, face, and back. I adopted her and Mama from Maple Ridge SPCA about 2 months ago. Can someone please help me??? Thanks Answer: Its possible that your cat could have gotten something from the SPCA during her stay there If it dosen't go away soon she should go see your vet. My cat had a problem like this and I used a medicine from my vet that helped my cat grow her fur back in those bald areas and she stoped scratching and biting those areas. But before trying some medication talk to your vet and see if it's ok. And if the SPCA keeps Health records of their cats look it up and see if your cat had a problem like this before and if it was ever treated with something. Also mabye your cat has an opsessive grooming problem where they lick an area over a period of time until most of the fur is gone and the skin can turn pink from the cat either scratching the area or grooming too much and too hard on the spot. But really consider visiting your vet ASAP Answer: I Sabrina to her vet on May 30 for the same condition. I asked her if it's possible that Sabrina got mites but the vet said it doesn't look like that. She said maybe I should do a scrape test even she doesn't think it's mite. I hesitate because it was very expensive. She then said she could give her Program, which would kill the mites. She also gave her an antibiotic, some pills for the itch, and a head collar. I left the collar on for about 3 weeks and the area is cured. However, after I took it off, she started to lick again. So I took her to the saloon for a medicated wash. The first 2/3 days she seemed fine, but then the itch starts again. Now there are 2 spots that are red and hairness. I even changed her diet from IAMS to Nutro Max. I am going to bring her to a cat clinic next week. Hopefully they willk know what's going on with her. Oh, someone mentioned about Rescue Remedy for Sabrina, would that really help? Is there any cream or lotion that can stop her from licking all the time? Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
