Pain after immunization shot
Question: Casey just got his second immunization shots about twenty minutes ago (3month puppy) and the vet told me it would hurt, but I'm not sure if the way he is acting is normal or not. Whenever he tries to walk somewhere he pushes his behind down (kind of like when they are trying to wipe themselves on the carpet). He had his last bowel movement not that long ago so I don't think it's related to that. He's also very restless, like he's trying to get away from the pain, moving from place to place and then lying down. Should I take him back to the vet? Pls answer quickly if possible. Answer: This is much later, but how is your puppy doing now? All pups act a different way when being immunized. Please let us know how he is doing. Heather Answer: He's okay... The whole rear end thing was actually caused by getting a little shave around there (for cleanliness as I'm not supposed to bath him until his cough is 100% gone) which the vet did yesterday. He's still scratching and biting at it, and it's driving him nuts. I hope it goes away soon! Poor guy! Thank you! Answer: Poor little Casey. They evidently "burned" him when they shaved the base of his tail. Not temperature-wise, shaving too close (razor-burn). I never ever use a blade finer than a #10 and always, on the underneath area of the tail, go with the direction of the hair, not against it. If you have some pure aloe vera gel or some Neosporam (sp?), or even some vaseline, put a little on it and it should help. It will get better in a day or so. That's all he needed wasn't it?! Give him a luv from Den-Den and me! Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
