Neighbor's cat
Question: I posted not to long ago about my neighbor's cat and how she has been keeping it outside etc... Well, she left for a couple of days and she left her kitten outside with a little food and water. The thing is it has been very hot during the day and I am afraid for this kitty. It is night now and I do have it here in my place but I have three cats who don't like it to much but trying my best for them to accept them. I have heard of rubbing there scents on a towel and then rubbing on the new pet because when they smell the new one it will smell like them. I have tried it a couple of times with my own but so far it isn't working on this one. Is there any ideas what I can do? Also, I would keep it in the house but I have heard it does pee on carpet and on her bed and I don't want it doing that here and I did show him the litterbox's also. I am upset that she did this and I don't want to call the Humane Society here because they will only keep the animals for only three days before putting them to sleep. One more question, how can you tell when a cat has a fever, and is dydrated and when there fur is very hot what does that mean even when it is in the house where it is cool? Thanks. Answer: I can understand how you feel,I used to have neighbors who would go away and leave their cats outside,in the winter:-( It is possible this cat, seeing the owner does not seem to care,is not neutered/spayed or vaccinated and could be sick. You should be careful mixing him/her with your cats until you know for sure. As for introducing them,it's difficult,my cats would go ballistic:-)if I brought in another adult cat,but it is possible. For now,I would keep the neighbors cat in a seperate room and tell the dumb neighbors next time they go away, you can look in on the cat and feed it IN her house. Someone else can probably give you more advice, but thank's for caring for this kitty! Answer: Some of your questions are answered in this article.
