Cat sneezing & bump on nose

Question:
My 7 year old cat Olive has been sneezing quite a bit and a small bump appeared on the bridge of her nose. I've looked around and the only cases I've seen that involve bumps have to do with cancer or tumors and that really scares me because I've never been so attached to an animal in all my life. During a 4 day vacation, Olive had to spend her time in the basement so I made her comfortable by putting a basket and blanket with her and ever since then she's been sleeping in the basement for days. I noticed that Olive smells really mildewy so I thought she might be a little sick from licking dust particles of her fur but I just don't know...I'm really worried... :(

Answer:
Sounds like time to get to the vet as soon as possible. Let him know about the basement situation. It may be connected.

Answer:
Based on what I've told you, do you have any ideas of what it might be? I'm just a teenager so it's pretty difficult for me to convince my parents of anything, they seem to think the sneezing is related to the dust and that the bump could just be an insect bite. I thought the bump may be a small tumor but no one believes me, everyone around me keeps saying that a tumor can't form on cartilidge but I'm not really so sure about that one.

Answer:
I'm afraid I don't know. That's why I suggested the vet look at it. I don't want to guess at something I don't know about. If my pet was uncomfortable or having problems, I would seek out the vet to help him. Can you offer to do some extra chores to cover the expense? If your parents know you're serious and you're willing to be responsible to pay it off?
