Dog acting strangely

Question:
Following is the email I sent to my veterinarian, as well as one in kelowna. IF anyone knows of anything similar, or knows im just overreacting, please let me know. thanks!

Doctor,

My nams is Courtenay Watson, owner of a springer spaniel by the name of Sheena, as well as a toy poodle X Shihtzu mix named Clunkers. I am currently staying in Kelowna, BC with both dogs, Clunkers and Sheena. The house has central air conditioning. The problem is, Sheena seems to be acting very strangely. Two days ago, she got covered in some Cacti needles, which we removed within about half an hour from her feet, legs, belly and face. She then licked her feet better. The next day, we applied some Hydrogen Peroxide to her feet to prevent infection, and kept her from licking for about 20 minutes (until it was dry to the touch). We repeated this once more this morning. She seems very drowsy, and almost indifferent. She spends time outside in the 40+ *C heat, in the sun. She is still drinking, and eating, however her energy level seems to have dropped significantly. This has lasted about 4 - 5 days, which is why I doubt it was caused by the Peroxide. Nothing else I can think of has changed. Other than sleeping all the time, she seems physically okay. I will take her on a walk tonight unless you think that will make her worse. Also, she is on Rimadyl and Glucosamine for her arthritis, and has been for about six months. she also takes 50 mg Benadryl daily for allergies, for about two years. She is 12.5 years old, and typically very active. I thank you very much for your time.

Thanks so much,

Courtenay Watson

Answer:
I have no idea what is wrong with your dog, but your vet will not diagnose or make suggestions without seeing her. To do so would constitute malpractice.

They cannot take her temperature, check her eyes, palpate her abdomen or do a blood test for organ failure or toxins in an email.

You must take your dog to the vet. At 12 yrs old, there are many things that could cause her symptoms.
