Fluid around Cocker Spaniel's abdomen
Question: Our 12 year old female, Cocker Spaniel has fluid build-up in the cavity around her abdomen. She has been to the vet and all her blood work, urinalysis, and vitals check out good. The vet wants to do a bio-acid test. If negative he recommends endoscope with anethesia for biopsy of liver. We are not able to afford this. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? She is not in any visible pain, but obviously moving a little slower. If you have any ideas, please let us know. Maybe there is a prescription or a nutrional supplement we could try? Thank you very, very, much! Peter Merring Answer: Without knowing what it is or what causing it I would hesistate to say. Is her gut leaking? Answer: OH I neglected to say did you get this dog from a breeder? If you know the breeder contact them, incase another dog has had this and they can recommend something.
