my dog defecated 5 times
Question: i have a rottwiler that is 12weeks old. he eats and drinks properly and is active but the only problem is that he goes to do number2 about 4-6x a day!!! is there anything wrong with him or do all young dogs do this?? Answer: You could be feeding him too much. How many meals do you give and how much at each time? Answer: Puppies are poop machines! Since they need 4 meals a day at that age - what goes in must come out! What kind of food is he getting? Answer: Puppies should only be fed twice a day at his age. Here is a website containing more information about puppies eating habits: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/feeding.htm Answer: Does your puppy have solid poop or is it diarrhea? If your dog has diarrhea then your dog may have Giardia. But talk to your vet first. Answer: I would never feed a 12 week old puppy only twice a day. Taken from a vet info site: "For puppies less than 16 weeks of age, offering small meals three or four times each day may ease the transition to the new home. In addition, by feeding a meal every few hours, owners will have more opportunities to observe the animal’s food intake and to train it to eliminate outdoors directly after each meal. Once the animal is six months old, the feeding schedule can be gradually shifted from the multiple daily feedings to two meals of equal portions, given in the morning and in the evening." Answer: Puppies poop a lot like babies and they need to eat a lot 4 times a day at LEAST. Answer: My mistake about feeding a dog twice a day thats what a website said. Sorry :( Answer: Not your fault - lots of really bad info about lots of things on the net. Answer: My dog is 9 months old and pooped 4 times yesterday. It's normal, they do poop a lot!! Answer: Ahhh poop stories... Casey has a tendency to poop multiple times in the morning. Pees at least three times in the morning too, all within an hour. Thank god he's little. But about feeding puppies 4 times a day -- in my case, Casey (almost 4month old poodle) will NOT eat more than 3 times a day. He will not stick to any regular feeding schedule, and often just eats two full meals, and has one "snack" before bed (he eats just a quarter of his food). Does this mean I'm giving him too much at meal times? Answer: Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.tendlife.com
